QV Skincare is a true home-grown success story. Built on a foundation of hard work and innovative thinking, the gentle, scientific formulations of our brand have seen us rise from humble origins to become one of Australia’s favourite and most trusted skincare brands, for all types of skin.
QV Skincare began as the brainchild of Ego Pharmaceuticals (or simply Ego), founded in 1953 by young chemist Gerald Oppenheim and his wife, Rae, a nurse.
It was in response to a request from the dermatology ward of Melbourne’s iconic Queen Victoria Hospital that Gerald Oppenheim created a specialist skincare product that would later become known as QV Bath Oil – named in honour of the hospital.
Favoured for its gentle formula, QV Bath Oil became extremely popular. Three short years later it was made available in pharmacies, establishing the QV name in the minds (and hearts) of Australians looking for an answer to cleansing and moisturising sensitive skin.
Decades on, the QV brand remains family owned, Australian made, and synonymous with quality and innovation. With over 50 QV products in more than 20 nations around the world, and over 50 million units sold, we’re proud to be trusted by multiple generations to cleanse and moisturise their dry, sensitive skin.
With an eye on the future, we’re always innovating to provide new products as our loyal customers’ skin needs evolve. A leader in its field for more than 55 years, parent company Ego continues to influence the industry with the development, manufacture and marketing of innovative skincare products, of which QV Skincare is but one.
