When going out with your baby, it is easy to forget some important items and this can spoil your trip. That's why, it is a good idea to keep a diaper bag ready which you can grab before running everyday errands with your baby. Having everything you and your baby need in one bag will save time and reduce a chance of forgetting an essential item. Here is a list of things you should include in a diaper bag:
Diapers
The number of diapers you'll need depends on your baby's bowel habits. In case you're confused, bring one for each hour you're outdoors.
A Towel or Changing pads
Many diaper bags come with a reusable changing pad. If you don't have one, a towel can do the job and also help dry their skin before putting on the diaper.
Wipes and Tissues
You need to keep those reachable to fix the small incidents.
Diaper Cream
Grab a small tube to save space and apply it at every nappy change.
Hand Sanitiser
You'll need it where there is not water or place to wash your hands after changing diapers.
Plastic Bags
Carry plastic bags which can be used to wrap dirty nappies or put wet clothes** where there are no trash bins, or when you're in a hurry.
Bottle of Formula, Snacks or Drinks
Depending on your baby's age, bring their favorite snacks that will keep them busy.
It is also important for mothers to look after themselves and hence, you should pack healthy food / snacks for yourself in the diaper bag.
Water Bottle
It's always a good idea to pack a bottle of water in case you or your little one get thirsty while out.
Extra Clothes
Pack 1 or 2 pieces of fresh undergarments and a spare set of clothes.
Nursing Cover
If you are breastfeeding, a nursing cover will give you privacy and save you time as you won't need to search for a discreet place to breastfeed your baby.
First Aid Kit
A simple first-aid kit can be a saviour in case of little accidents.
Blanket
Babies need to nap from time to time. A blanket can make your baby comfortable and feel like they are at home.
